MG ZS EV price dropped by up to Rs 2.30 lakh

    ZS EV is the third MG product after Hector, Hector Plus to see a price cut in recent days.

    Following the price cuts of the Hector and Hector Plus, MG Motor India has now slashed the prices of the ZS EV by up to Rs 2.30 lakh. Prices for the MG ZS EV now start at Rs 22.88 lakh for the Excite variant and go up to Rs 25.90 lakh for the Exclusive Pro variant. MG Motor India says that these new prices are due to both, a reduction in input costs and a streamline in the supply chain, and a part of its 100-year celebrations. All prices are ex-showroom, India.

    Post the price cut, the base ZS EV Excite is priced at Rs 22.88 lakh, Rs 50,000 less than its previous price of Rs 23.38 lakh. The Exclusive variant sees the biggest price cut of Rs 2.30 lakh, as it is now priced at Rs 25.00 lakh, down from its previous price of Rs 27.30 lakh. Furthermore, the newly introduced Exclusive Pro variant, which saw the addition of MG’s full suite of ADAS, is now priced at Rs 25.90 lakh, down Rs 2.00 lakh from its previous price of Rs 27.90 lakh.

    The ZS EV uses a front-axle-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor developing 177hp and 280Nm of torque. It has a range of up to 461km on a single charge from its 50.3kWh battery. MG says the battery can be fully charged from 0-80 percent in an hour using a 50kW DC fast charger, and from 0-100 percent in up to 9 hours using a 7.4kW charger.

    Talking about features, the MG ZS EV gets a 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, wireless charger, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and connected car tech. Safety features include ADAS, six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control and hill descent control.

    The ZS EV competes with the likes of the Tata Nexon EV (Rs 14.74 lakh-19.94 lakh), Mahindra XUV400 (Rs 15.99 lakh-19.19 lakh) and Hyundai Kona (Rs 23.84 lakh).
